The Angels look to return to championship form in 2004 after some quality offseason moves. Obviously, adding outfielders Vladimir Guerrero and Jose Guillen puts a lot of pop into the lineup. The addition of Bartolo Colon, also a big sign, will solidify the starting rotation. Along with the returning Garret Anderson, Troy Glaus and Adam Kennedy, the Angels are will be a contender in the 2004 season. The team is managed by Mike Scioscia and has been located in Anaheim since 1961. They have made the playoffs 3 times and last won the World Series in 2002. Since 1966, the team has been playing its games in Edison International Field, which has a capacity of 45,050.

The Angels took a year off from post-season glory in 2002 after introducing the world to the rally monkey during their 2002 World Series campaign. Playing in one of the most beautiful ballparks in the country, manager Mike Scioscia is letting his team shine in the fitting atmosphere, making a hard run at the American League Wild Card and the AL West, less than three games seperating them from both goals as August ends.
Vladamir Guerrero is playing his best baseball for the team now, he is among the top ten in the majors in Average, Home Runs, and RBI\'s. His partner in crime has been eight-year vet Jose Guillen, who has an average over .300 and has hit over one hundred RBI\'s for the team as well this season. The offense doesn\'t have any trouble producing runs with these two big bats in the lineup.
As seems to be a problem with many of the top teams in the league, pitching is a major concern for the Angels. They don\'t have a single starter with an ERA under 4.0, Kelvim Escobar is the only pitcher on the team among the league\'s top forty. The run production has only produced ten wins for three of the team\'s pitchers, with Bartolo Colon as the team leader with thirteen wins.
The Angels aren\'t the October favorites of many educated baseball fans, but the Anaheim faithful will certainly have the ralley monkey out if this team can make it to the American League playoffs by winning the West or the Wild Card. The team certainly isn\'t a stranger to playing in the playoffs without being favored, and could certainly surprise some people and win their second World Series trophy in three seasons if people don\'t take them seriously.

The Rally Monkey will be needed as the Angels will play their final three in Oakland for the AL West title. Mike Scioscia will make sure his team plays as one unit to secure their place in the playoffs. This
