When it rains in sunny southern California, it pours. At the outset of a season in which most believed that the Lakers would reign over the league, few expected the deluge that rained on the pre-championship parade in L. A. Kobe battled legal trouble, a re-occurring shoulder injury and his teammates. Shaq fought the media, Kobe, and his share of the injury bug. The wind beneath the Lakers wings, new arrivals Gary Payton and Karl Malone, saw limited action together due to Mailman’s hand injury. But even with all the side-show, the Lakers seem to be building to another postseason run. After trudging through a seemingly hapless season mired in mediocrity, the Lakers are peaking at the right time behind their hall-of-fame line up. With just their health and their game, this version of the Lake Show may just have a Hollywood ending.

The team is near to another championship trophy, it\'s going to be another Hollywood ending for the Lakers. Coach Phil Jackson has nine national titles and all signs point to another one brewing in sunny California. The west coast uprising is coming with the revival of Kobe, Shaq, Karl Malone, and Gary Payton. Few expected a Cinderella story in LA this season, but hey, it’s Hollywood.
