Cowboys

After bowing out early in a wild-card defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Cowboys hope to better this year’s chances. The cowboys have added such names as Keyshawn Johnson, Vinny Testaverde and Marcellus Wiley, just to name a few. Julius Jones brings hope of revitalizing the team’s running game after Troy Hambrick\'s unsuccessful effort in replacing Emmitt Smith.
Although there is some speculation surrounding who will start at quarterback, common sense suggests Testaverde is there to provide a bit of reassurance for the QB position if Carter begins the year with any difficulties.
With the Cowboy’s defense finishing last year ranked number one, the team exhibits lots of promise and hopes to have a much better year in the 2004-2005 season.

Bill Parcells turned a 5-11 team into a 10-6 playoff team with minimal changes to personnel in his first season in Dallas. This season he\'s brought in some of his favorite players from the past to hold up his system and try to take the Cowboys further into the playoffs after last year\'s Wildcard defeat.
Helping him in this task are several players he\'s coached previously. The biggest change for the team comes at Quarterback. The oft-criticized Quincy Carter was released in a shocking move during the offsesaon, paving the way for Vinny Testaverde to be named the starting Quarterback. Testaverde and Parcells hope to recreate some of the success they had together in New York with the Jets. Testaverde has an old target to throw to in Keyshawn Johnson, who also played on those Testaverde/Parcells teams in New York. Troy Hambrick is also gone in favor of experience, the tailback position now being covered by former Titan Eddie George.
While the starters of the offense may appear rustic, look beneath the surface and there\'s certainly a preparation of youth in the works. Drew Henson returns to football after three years toiling in minor league baseball. With Carter leaving, Henson has to shake off the rust of his three year break in order to be ready to back up the 40 year old starter. With Eddie George\'s age creeping up on him, first-round pick Julius Jones figures to get some carries in preparation for his bright future as a workhorse back in this Dallas offense.
While there are certainly questions on the offensive side of the football, the legendary Parcells defense is certainly ready to play. Surprising the league last season as the number one ranked unit, this defense has the ability to stop any system it comes up against and was the driving force behind last year\'s success.
If Parcells can keep the defense driving and get back some chemistry with his former offensive players, good things are going to happen for this Dallas team. With the youth movement coming, this might just be the start of another run of the Cowboys on top.

Bill Parcells is in charge in Dallas, whipping a once-great team back into a farily well-oiled machine. In a tough NFC East division, the Cowboys are slowly fixing a defense that came into the season with high expectations. To help give the D time, 40-year-old Vinny Testaverde has passed for almost 900 yards in three games. With each game, Dallas shows more signs of improvement. The offense must find ways to put more points on the board to complement their high yardage games. The Cowboys are two steps away from giving the Eagles a run for their money in the division.
