With the potential of David Carr, former collegiate All-American Jabar Gafney, and NFL veteran Stacy Mack at running back, the Texans could post some impressive numbers this season. Look for the Texans to come up big in 2004 in the AFC South.

David Carr is tired of the Houston Texans not being able to capitalize on momentum, and so is his mother. Frustrated by the expansion team\'s inability to win two consecutive games, David and his father both made a vow not to cut their hair until the Texans won two in a row. If this team makes the advances that it is capable of, don\'t expect his hair to be in a ponytail long.
In potentially the most competitive division in football, the AFC South, the three year old Texans may occasionally have trouble finding victory. With starting tailback Domanick Davis hoping to show that his rookie 2003 campaign wasn\'t a fluke and with Carr ready to shed his mane, look out for Houston to be a surprising underdog throughout the season.

It looks like 2004 may be another long season for the Houston Texans. QB David Carr may again get to be on close terms with the ground as his O-line has yet to provide adequate protection for the young quarterback. As RB Domanick Davis is ailing with injuries, the defense has to find ways to give the offense time to score, it can't rely on touchdowns from INTs like in their victory at Kansas City. The Texans have a long way to go before becoming a viable playoff team in the AFC, but if the offensive line can protect their quarterback and make holes for Davis, that is huge step in the right direction.
