The Atlanta Falcons have been playing football since 1966. Though a Super Bowl victory has eluded the Falcons, many talented players have played in Atlanta such as Steve Bartkowski, William Andrews and Tommy Nobis. The only Super Bowl appearance for this team was in 1998. Look for these Dirty Birds to be a wildcard this season with a healthy Michael Vick.

Two years ago, the Atlanta Falcons franchise was rejuvenated by one name. Last year, it was stopped dead in its track by one name. Michael Vick has become the life force of this franchise, and with him back and healthy, everyone in the NFL is on the alert.
This isn\'t the same Falcons club that Vick led to a surprising playoff berth two years ago though. Gone is coach Dan Reeves, and first-time head coach Jim Mora has ushered in a West Coast offense meant to play to Vick\'s famed mobility in the pocket. The running combination of TJ Duckett and Warrick Dunn has become known as Thunder and Lightning, and with Duckett impressing analysts with a great camp, Vick also has a stronger running game to look forward to this season.
Mora\'s strength though is on the defensive side of the football, and he\'s looking at the task of improving the league\'s worst defense from a year ago. They made several moves in free agency and the draft to shore up the defense, but don\'t expect an over night miracle in the team this season.
With expectations high on this Falcons team, the focus still remains on the athletic Vick and his ability to lead the team back to the playoffs. Supporters point to his 3-1 record last season after returning from injury to show why he will be succcessful. Whether successful or not, there is no doubt that he will be a very entertaining guy to watch.

Michael Vick. These two words elicit images of speed and moves seen only in video games or comic books. With a 3-0 record and the best rushing game in the NFL, Hotlanta is playing confident football. However, Vick must improve his passing game and utilize threats like Peerless Price and Alge Crumpler to become a well-rounded team to win the NFC South. The defense has shown remarkable improvement allowing under 300 yards a game, Aaron Beasley and Patrick Kerney a large part of that improvement. If the Falcons can fully settle in to the West Coast offense and become the dynamic offense that they show signs of, 3-0 is only the beginning for Vick and company.
