The Sabres had some financial troubles last year, but new ownership took over and allowed GM Darcy Regier bring in the talented Chris Drury and Andy Delmore to help sure up the squad. Buffalo already can boast the scoring threat of Miroslav Satan, who was signed to a contract extension. Along with Satan, J.P. Dumont and Curtis Brown remain as proven veterans up front. Delmore, a talented young defenseman, joins Alexei Zhitnik and a host of others on the blue line. Martin Biron returns from a quality showing last season that proved he could be a number one net minder in the NHL. If Drury can have a great season and help Satan carry the scoring load, the Sabres definitely have enough on the defensive side to propel them to a playoff berth in the spring.
