After missing the post-season last year in a horribly disappointing season, the San Jose Sharks return to chase Lord Stanley’s Cup with the second-best record in the Western Conference. Goalie Evgerni Nabokov gives the team teeth between the pipes. The eerie Jaws theme music heard by opposing defenses in San Jose isn’t quite as scary as the balanced Shark attack lead by Patrick Marleau, Nils Ekman, and Jonathan Cheechoo. Encircling the Cup with dorsal fins protruding above the surface, anticipating the downfall of the next victim, the Sharks have made San Jose a feeding ground where the playoff dreams of other teams sleep with the fishes.
